Scorodite Crystals with Pyrite

Numerous, well formed, dark blue Scorodite crystals with bright brassy Pyrite crystals from the 2008 find in China.

Scorodite itself is not a rare species, but well formed crystals of it are! This is just such a specimen.

Described in the July/August 2008 issue of the Mineralogical Record (page 332) as:

"important specimens, with scorodite crystals that, while remaining quite sharp, sport sizes matching or exceeding those of the older-known crystals from Tsumeb, Namibia; the El Cobre mine, Zacatecas, Mexico; and the Ojuela mine, Durango, Mexico."
This specimen is from the same 2008 find in China which made this highly sought-after mineral species available in good quality crystalline specimens at affordable prices.

Size of largest Scorodite crystal - 5 x 5 x 5 mm.
